Stopping anticoagulants in pregnancy

The above was discussed in Fernandez hospital group.

Heparin    -Prophylactic heparin should be stopped 12 h prior to a possible spinal 

                 Therapeutic 24 h prior to a possible spinal. 

Once daily dose of lmwh then wait for 10-12hrs & if given more than once daily then 18 hrs.Its for regional anaesthesia & GA can be given anytime.

Low molecular weight Heparin

Aspirin    -Aspirin should stop 7 days prior. 

 Should PT INR be done for a patient on LMWH? 

PT INR are for oral anticoagulants and not for LMWH
